On the way to Foxton

We didn’t want to go too far today, thinking it best to go through the Foxton Locks on a week day, though the traffic today was actually a lot lighter than yesterday. In the morning we went through Husbands Bosworth Tunnel and as far the Laughton Hills where there was a lovely mooring place with a low hill on one side and views in the other direction.

We ate lunch and Alan tried to set up the TV with no luck. There are only a couple of nights a week that there are programs that we really want to see and Sunday is one, when we like Waking the Dead. So on we went past bridge 56 where there was another nice mooring with far reaching views on the towpath side. Once again reception was a problem and Alan did a lot of jiggery pokery with wires and finally managed to get a decent enough analogue picture which didn’t use our aerial at all. We are still minus a booster as we haven’t been anywhere that we could buy one since it failed. We should be able to get one in Market Harborough or Leicester.

So it was a bit of a non day; didn’t get anything done on the boat cleaning (doesn’t take much to put us off) and didn’t go very far. Tomorrow should be more eventful with Foxton Locks around the corner, and I am looking forward to visiting Market Harborough for the first time.
