It was a lovely day and we started off by reversing the boat over to the water point to fill the tanks. There are so few boats travelling along that the water is clear enough to see the bottom with its collection of pipes, concrete blocks and other debris that we usually don’t know about.
Alan is still suffering from a painful heel and is hobbling so after lunch I went off for a walk at the sort of pace he can’t keep up with at present. I went up the towpath to Bulbourne where there are a good collection of boats moored. Hopefully there will be space for us to fit in when we go up there on Friday. Then I turned back and around the reservoirs again. The colours are wonderful and there are a lot of trees covered with red berries which glow when they are viewed from a distance along the edges of the reservoirs.
