As we travelled steadily along to the end of the Ashby we pinpointed the places that we would like to spend more time at on the return leg. Market Bosworth was one of those places so we pottered along today eventually mooring opposite the apartment buildings at Bosworth Wharf. These are new builds but they have the most wonderful views over the fields and some very hard working harvesters today.
Its supposed to be a mile walk into the town centre but it does seem further, its quite an uphill. When we got there it was to discover some very attractive buildings, an excellent butcher, (venison, pheasants and wild rabbit) gift shops, a newsagent, Co-op and bakers, and a Post Office to send off my tax return. After an all-day breakfast (not the best we have eaten), some shopping at the Co-op and a very pleasant encounter with the helpful butcher who has sold us lamb and beef that look very good quality (let’s hope we aren’t disappointed) it was a bracing down hill jaunt back to the boat.
Today we did 6.26 Miles
