We set off this morning in glorious sun, appropriately dressed in shorts tee-shirt and sandals. After all the weather forecast was sunny periods and the evidence was plainly before our eyes, in the sky bright sun and pleasant fluffy white clouds.
We had set out to do a couple of multi geocaches, whilst we were out we came across Del and Al on Derwent6, they had turned up for the forthcoming Fairport Convention Festival, we chatted for a while and no doubt we will be meeting up with them over the coming week.
We completed the geocaches and stopped off at the local café for a spot of lunch, while we were getting stuck into a bit of goats cheese, things were happening in the sky above. When we came out the sky had opened up with no sign that it would let up this day or indeed this week. So as we had come out totally unprepared for rain we made our way back to the boat getting wetter and wetter with each step.
By the time we got back to the boat we were like drowned rats, we did pass Derwent6 who were sitting under their cratch dryly enjoying the rain while we slopped past. We are not going out again today.
