On the move

May 8, 2009

Well it has been some time since I did a blog, and it seems like ages since we moved. Having said that we have completed the bulk of the paint touch up that was required. So all of the black has been done along the gunwales and we have red-oxided the bows ready for the topcoat, weather permitting.
We set off this morning in the rain as another boat was going through the lock so we thought it would be a good idea to share the burden going down to Berkhamsted. So we came through accompanied by a very nice couple on their boat Little Mel. After about 20 minutes the rain stopped and from no where we were suddenly surrounded by glorious blue skies and bright sunshine. We are now moored at Berkhamsted and have had a very relaxing look around town, buying the usual collection of second hand books that we pickup when ever we go near Oxfam and the like. I do think that we have a serious book buying condition.

I have now restored the computer to its former glory, so once again I can start to upload pictures, unfortunately time is still a factor so none for today.

Today we did 2.47 miles and 7 locks.

Statistics so far:-

517.46 Miles, 411 Locks, 46 Swing Bridges, 27 Lift Bridges, 6 Tunnels.
