Not much activity today, we did some laundry which required a 4 mile round trip to the laundrette and fortunately for us the rain did not start until we were on the homeward leg. The tourist information centre had given us a map of the location of the laundrette along with bus time tables and location of suitable buses to get us from the canal to the laundrette and back. Of course we being intrepid towpath walkers travelled by foot rather than the wheel, even though one of us could do this for free and that was our exercise for the day.
We have now booked our flights to New Zealand and Australia; we will be going in mid January and returning at the end of March. We have family and friends to see, in particular our son Mick who moved to Christchurch at the end of July.
So what do we do with our boat? We would be most grateful to receive any information on available moorings for the duration, about three months.
We have battened down the hatches for the expected storms that are possibly coming our way.
