Well we decided to stay here in Cropredy and it was just as well as the canal was frozen over again with about 25mm of ice when we got up this morning. A boat did come through around midday heading for Fenny Compton and we were tempted for a while to follow, but in the end decided to stay put and brave out whatever cold spell comes along without the fire.
We walked along the canal to Oathill farm which was about a three mile round trip. The farm has a farm shop and we bought some provisions for the next few days. We spent about half an hour chatting to the very friendly lady who runs the shop. We will probably call in there again on our way passed when we leave here.
We came across this narrow boat near Varney’s lock, a sad end.

The End
