Another day another place

We were up early this morning; I think that it was a mixture of bright sunshine and a desperate need to get underway before the arrival of the officious Warden that patrols the Thrupp area, not I hasten to add from the British Waterways but from Thrupp boating club, or some such name. It is great to move on to pastures new and I was reminded of Bilbo’s words which I stole and modified when we began our journey all those months ago.

The canal goes ever on and on
Down from Cowroast where it began
Now far ahead the canal has gone,
And we must follow, if we can
Pursuing it with Lazy Days
Until it joins some larger ways
Where many Paths and errands meet
And whither then? We cannot say.

We are now moored at the disused quarry just up from Pigeon’s lock, as is Hadar, it’s a beautiful setting and we have had a good walk around the quarry and back to pigeon lock.

389.8 Miles, 288 Locks, 44 Swing Bridges, 13 Lift Bridge, 4 Tunnels. 3 batteries!! 1 Alternator

Hi to you both from us on NB Hadar.
It was wonderful to meet you yesterday, and we look forward to seeing you again in the future, maybe next time we can get together for a drink. Last night the weather was so awful we did not bother to venture out.
Happy cruising, see you again sometime.

    Regards.
    Jo
